Security Is Skincare: Protect the Barrier Before You Chase the Glow
Anyone who knows me knows I love skincare, so yes, I absolutely found a way to turn it into a cybersecurity lesson. Hear me out. Everyone wants the glow-up, the shiny serum, the fancy tool, and the “this will fix everything” moment. But in skincare and in security, the foundation does more heavy lifting than the shiny stuff ever will. Know what you are working with, protect the barrier, layer with intention, and stay consistent. Because the glow is cute, but the foundation is what keeps you safe.
The Power of Pause
At the Georgia Official Clinical Trials Day Celebration, I joined a fireside conversation on cybersecurity, AI, governance, and data integrity. When asked what one thing people could do this week, I said pause. Not to stop moving, but to move with intention. In a world moving faster with AI and digital tools, pause helps us ask better questions, protect trust, and remember the humans behind the data.

There’s Something Special About Learning Together
In a world that is moving so quickly, especially with AI and emerging technology, learning does not have to be something we do alone. This reflection explores the power of coming together, sharing knowledge, asking questions, and creating spaces where curiosity and collective growth can thrive. Because expertise does not have to be gatekept, and growth does not have to be lonely.
We’re More Connected Than Ever, And Somehow a Little Less Human
In a world built around optimization, productivity, and constant digital connection, I’ve been reflecting on whether we’re quietly losing some of the human moments that matter most. This blog is a reflection on what happens when we optimize everything except what matters.

AI Is Moving Fast. How We Build It Matters More Than Ever.
Over the past few days, the conversation around Claude Mythos has been hard to miss. At the same time, something else happened. A separate issue involving exposure of Claude’s source code. Two stories. Same company. And together, they tell a much more important story than either one alone.
The Kind of Wisdom You Don’t Learn in Tech
Recently, I had the opportunity to lead a cybersecurity and AI session for seniors. Going into it, I kept telling myself, just keep it simple. Keep it practical. Make it useful. I had my plan. But honestly, the session didn't really go the way I expected. In a good way.

AI Is Having a Moment. Leadership Should Be Having One Too.
AI is everywhere. But are we using it responsibly? In this piece, I explore the gap between AI adoption and AI accountability, and the questions every leader should be asking before they scale.
The Quiet Power of Community
There are seasons in life that arrive quietly. Not dramatic. Not loud. Just different. And in those seasons, you start to notice something important. The community you build becomes your strength. Sometimes that strength looks like a phone call. Sometimes it looks like cookies, ramen, or singing at the top of your lungs. All of it matters.

This conversation is not just about cybersecurity or leadership in high-stakes environments. It is about faith, integrity, people, and the courage to redefine success as life changes. Romey brings honesty, humility, and a deep respect for the human side of our work, and that is exactly why I wanted to share his story here.

I’ve had the privilege of watching Katie Grigorov grow over the years, and seeing her journey unfold has been incredibly meaningful.
